Waiting for the warm...

While working away in my studio waiting for the warm weather to arrive, I did a few small still life paintings. This one was an exercise in handling greens. Green can be such a difficult color!

Back on memory lane...

I was sent to work on the Pan American games in Cuba for the ABC network in the 1990's. What a wonderful experience! I took tons of photos and have decided to use them as a basis for a series of paintings of Cuba.

Where has the time gone?

It has been an interesting winter. Took a few painting workshops and have been busy in my studio. I promise I will be posting more in the coming days. Plan to get out when the weather warms up a bit and doing some "en plein air"!

Chilly Morning

There was a chill in the air this morning. Fall is my favorite time of the year. Time for harvests, crisp pears and apples, scents of cinnamon and cloves.

Nature Walk

One of the hidden gems in the Chesapeake Bay area is the Terrapin Beach Nature Park. It’s located on Kent Island, Maryland. I spent a warm August afternoon there this summer and painted a small oil study of one of the waterfowl observation areas.

Cigar Box Pochade

I turned a small 7”x7” cigar box into a pochade box and took it out for a spin the other day. It was a beautiful day in the local park near the Magothy River.  I completed a small oil study “Anchored on the Magothy”.

It’s September…

My thoughts always go to the beaches at the Outer Banks in North Carolina around this time.

The weather is still warm, the crowds are gone, and for me, it’s just bliss.
